Hourly to Salary
Last updated: · Data: IRS, SSA & Tax Foundation (tax year 2026)
An hourly rate only means something once it is a yearly number you can budget against. This index converts every wage from $15 to $60 an hour into annual pay — and into take-home pay after 2026 federal tax and FICA, which is the figure that actually lands in a bank account. Pick a rate to open its full page: every pay period, the tax math, take-home in five states, and the rates around it.
Hourly pay converted to salary (2026, after tax)
Full-time work — 40 hours a week, 52 weeks, 2,080 hours a year. Take-home assumes a single filer with no state income tax and no pre-tax deductions, so it is the best-case version of each wage; your state's page in the paycheck calculator by state index shows what your state takes on top. The spread across this table is wide: $15 an hour keeps $27,249 a year, while $60 an hour grosses $124,800 and keeps $96,567.

How to use this index
Start from your rate, or from the job you are comparing it with. Each rate page shows gross pay per day, week, two weeks, month, and year; the federal tax, Social Security, and Medicare that come out; take-home pay in California, Texas, New York, Florida, and Oregon; and a worked monthly budget. For a schedule that is not 40 hours a week, the salary calculator converts any hours and weeks you give it, and the paycheck calculator runs your exact salary, state, filing status, and deductions. For scale, the middle of this index — $25 an hour — is $52,000 a year gross and about $43,962 take-home, $3,663.50 a month. Figures are estimates from 2026 IRS, SSA, and Tax Foundation data; local taxes and credit phaseouts are excluded. Every assumption is listed on our methodology page.
